Asteroid Disaster

After a collision, a small asteroid in earth orbit has reached a collision trajectory with the Moon, now densely colonized by humans. Although small, the asteroid could do serious damage to habitats on the moon, with no atmosphere to protect them.

Your mission is to launch a spacecraft and use it to either deflect or destroy the asteroid, so that it doesn’t hit the moon. This challenge will have levels, each with a faster and closer asteroid. The quicksave for Level 1 is attached (maybe?).

Spoiler: How I did level 1

First, I took a rocket:

don’t tell anyone, but I forgot RCS




Launch, Orbit, and I reached the asteroid just by accelerating very fast, then decelerating until I matched its trajectory.

I painstakingly got ahold of the asteroid (cuz no RCS) and burned sideways, guiding the asteroid away from the Moon

And that’s the challenge!
Level 2 will come soon (or maybe not).

Managed to put the files in the right places so here:

Accelerated and decelerated to mach trajectory like you did.

Now I'm in a perfect spot to burn retrograde, I de-orbit it and make it burn up in the atmosphere.

Now the humans are safe.. for now.
