Do you have an old-format part pack that wasn't ported or the port doesn't work? Or maybe you have a texture pack made for the unofficial loader and you are trying to load it into the game? If so, AstroCompat is for you!

AstroCompat provides full backwards compatibility for part packs and textures for the unofficial loader.
It can also help in case some pack's new version throws the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" or "Pack doesn't support current runtime platform" error and that pack has a version from before the format change (released before the 31st of August, 2022)

What exactly are old format part packs and textures?
For part packs, these are the files without the .pack extension that throw the "Can't deserialize pack file" error when you try to load them.
For textures, they are just a bunch of separate folders that you are supposed to put in Color/Shape/ShadowTextures.

How to install the mod?
Click the download link below, right-click AstroCompat.dll on the Google Drive page and select Download. Put the downloaded file into [Steam games directory]/SFS/SFS Game/Mods. Launch the game once so the mod can create the necessary folders.

How to install the legacy part packs?
If you installed the mod correctly, two new folders should appear in the SFS Game/Mods/Custom Assets directory: Legacy Part Packs and Legacy Textures.
Put the part pack files into Legacy Part Packs, custom color textures into Legacy Textures/ColorTextures, shape textures into ShapeTextures, and the shadow textures into ShadowTextures.
Now, restart the game and upon opening the Mod Loader menu, you should see some new elements on the mod list with authors and versions replaced with three question marks (???). Unlike AstroForge, these actually support the "enable mod" toggle.
