Been slowly figuring out the intricacies of the new mount, and have taken some new images in the past few weeks. Because the mount is computerized, making mosaics has become significantly easier. Currently working on a pretty big one, and have also done parts of a few others.

I’ve been really happy lately with the quality of the images I’ve gotten. Nothing too incredible, but an astonishing difference from where I was a year ago. Anyways, here’s what I’ve gotten:

Sorry about that Marmilo, somehow missed your comment. The second image is not huge, only around 14 MP and is roughly 4500x3000 pixels. The fourth image is pretty big due to it being a mosaic. So, 27 MP at 5500x5000, but that is only 1/3 of the size of the planned end product of the mosaic.

Anyhow, here’s a few new images. Weather isn’t looking too promising the next week, but we’ll see what happens.

It was a Christmas miracle that the skies cleared last night. Managed to capture comet Leonard only a few degrees above the horizon. Only had a short hour ish long window after sunset to try and get an image.

Here’s a few new pics! Been pretty cloudy here lately, so I haven’t been able to do a whole lot. In order should be the Jellyfish Nebula, Hyades Cluster, the Leo Triplet, the Crab Nebula, a star trail image near Polaris, the core of M42, and the 37 Cluster.

Here are some new images! Including the quasar HS 0624+6907 at a distance of 4.56 billion l.y., which is the furthest object I’ve ever imaged. It is annotated by two dashes at its 3 and 6 o’clock positions.

Got to head out to my astronomy clubs dark site this past weekend. Here’s what I got. First image is LDN 1622, Barnard’s Loop, and M78. Second image is Markarian’s Chain. And, the final image is only 20 minutes on M16, The Eagle Nebula, taken at the end of the night for fun. The dark site always seems to yield some of my favorite images, and these are no exception!

Here’s my random check in here to drop off some new images. Got quite a few, including some from a recent trip to Colorado where the skies are extremely dark compared to at home.

There’s quite a few images, but in order is a reprocessing of some old data on the Milky Way Core, the Owl Nebula and Surfboard Galaxy, the Propeller Nebula, Thor’s Helmet, the Cygnus Loop, the Ring Nebula, Polaris and the Integrated Flux Nebula, the Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex, a conjunction of the Moon Mars Venus and Saturn, and finally a two panel panorama of the summer Milky Way.

Figure it’s time for an update, so here’s a few of the best shots since the last post. Since the last update I’ve upgraded to a dedicated astro camera, and have added another lens to the collection. Too many images to name, but I’d be happy to answer any questions about them if anyone has any.

Thanks guys! These are not the full resolution versions, I don’t really have a great place for posting those at the moment. If you want to use them as wallpapers that’s fine by me! Lmk if there’s any in particular and I can try to get you a higher res version.
