Challenge: Try to go as fast as possible horizontally.
Rules: Engines+clipping are allowed. However clipping engines inside of each other so it looks like one engine is not allowed.
The only cheat allowed is unbreakable parts, and is encouraged to use.
If you are using an edited planet so the world is completely flat however, you cannot use unbreakable parts.

Try to go as fast as you can, and post your fastest time+the rocket =)

The fastest I got to is 93.5 and sometimes 100. Be careful of flipping, the bumps are a pain.

Why not? You know that perfectly flat planets, ain't perfectly flat, right...? Once you turn off unbreakable parts, the wheels will explode at 80m/s regardless.

Ig don’t turn it off than I’ve never downloaded a flat world so I wouldn’t know

Top tip. The ground anywhere isn't flat. It's still loads of little polygons, each with edges, like triangles. The faster you go, you're gonna catch these edges and you're gonna lift off the floor.

And it doesn't matter how flat the world is. Things have a breaking point. That point isn't that high.

I really wonder where you got such an idea :p

I gave it a try, but without the cheats it doesn't go far indeed:

With cheats I can do better, though this is not the behaviour I expected...

I got like 180 peak, but couldn't capture it, it was jumpy...
I didnt think of using less powerful engines maybe that’s the way to go

It's cos the ground isn't perfectly smooth. There's a guy I was abusing on Reddit that was wondering why his sled was leaving 'perfectly flat' ground.

Its because the ground is never flat, and he was approaching (and exceeding) orbital velocity on the ground.

I know this is an old thread and all but screw it I’m new so I don’t give a crap. Got to 410 m/s before a little air compression happens and destroys half the nose cone.
