You got control over your account again, changed your password, enabled 2-factor authentication, made a ban appeal, and said you'd be more careful.
Denied, unappealable. What's the deal?
The short: We can't trust you not to fall for it again and spread it.
The long: There are a lot of scams and "hacks" out there, that appear to be legitimate discord or steam login webpages. You really thought you got lucky and won those free CSGO skins! Or you saw some risque discord link with the promise of more. Whatever the case is, you failed basic internet safety. And your account got taken away from you and someone used it to send even more messages like that to everyone they could.
Unfortunately, our server consists of a lot of teens who either don't know better or don't care and might click on those links, one of them will look real enough, and just like that, another account is stolen.
We have to make decisions to protect our users. We can't go back in time and prevent you from clicking that link or scanning that QR code, but we can stop a known risk from using the server.
We have a lot of tools in place to help reduce the number of scam messages you might receive, and our staff is ever-vigilant in searching for the latest version of this to help protect you. But it depends on you, the user being careful when it happens to you.
All it takes is one friend believing that message is real and the cycle continues.
