All current ships in operation for the ITSA (Shibuya, K-IAC, T-ODS, FSD, ODW01, and the Executor which will most likely become its own line of ships. The ODW01s (Nightfall and Unto Evil) are being decommissioned soon as their technology is outdated. A new line will replace them. Oslo is also still in operation. With all these ships ready though, it seems that the ITSA has the means to make its very own fleet.

I’m going to begin working on this line again after nearly two years of no work. However, I’m a little conflicted on what I should let fly, as far as cheats and methods, when going about building newer vessels due to the fantasy nature of them. All my past vessels have been somewhat acceptable in the sense that engine stretching was remedied with adequate ballast. I can always find ways to work around heat as I have with all my builds post heat update. Just wondering what other people think?

Also lying along the lines of the “fantasy” idea. I’ve always had the notion that launches from other bodies (the moon) would make more sense in this “far future” setting that this line takes place within.

To be honest, I say do what you want, as if you just want them to be aestechically pleasing (which they are) that's fine. If you want the extra challenge of adding ballast, that's also fine

Great to see you back at this, this thread was very inspirational.
I do think stretching with ballasts is acceptable, and you are able to disable heat if you didn't already know

Instead of retiring the ODW01 warship line as I had originally intended, I decided to refit Unto Evil. This included replacing the “CTA” with “ITSA” to make it in accordance with the newer ships, and the replacement of the entire propulsion system with new “experimental” engines. The sheer size and weight of the engine, composed of 76 stretched ion engines (very much overpowered), was accounted for with the addition of 4000 tons of ballast.

Definitely looks cool when in space.

Nightfall will be receiving the same modifications. Executor was also modified, although not as drastically, to make sure it doesn’t fry itself anymore.

Your builds have to be the most intricate and most pleasing to look at in the entire forum! How much time do you spend on one build?

How much ballast did you need for that?

Thank you! That’s greatly appreciated.
I don’t really remember how long most of these took me since they were so long ago. Redoing the engines alone didn’t take me too long though. Maybe an hour? Had to kinda relearn bp editing and play around with the design. I’ll get a better gauge on time with the next few builds I do.

I think in my past builds I went in and altered the “width” of a probe then changed the “x” width to reduce the size but retain the mass of a larger probe.
For this particular instance I forgot that’s what I usually did and just increased the fuel percentage of some tanks and separated them from the main fuel tank.

I’m proud to present the ITSA Baleen! At 261 meters long and a mass of 26 kilotons, it features +2544 square meters of cargo space, four Ion Drives (name for the big engines), and two K-IAC escorts. In testing, Baleen was able to reliably carry 10 kilotons to LEO which used 40% of the stored fuel. Baleen will be accompanied by a sister ship of the same design.

With a ship like this, I would have liked to include more small details, but after 21-22 times that the game crashed I conceded and settled with having less detail. Launching it also makes my iPhone heat up really fast and the power for the thrust has to start at 0% and then go up or else the game bugs out.
I’ll be testing how far it can get soon and will post updates on its progress.

Baleen’s sister ship is now named. Before being launched into orbit, Bowhead will be loaded with the ITSA’s newest parts for establishing a permanent colony on the moon.

Bowhead has been loaded with eight helium-3 extractors and two surface communications modules. There’s still four more spaces that will be filled, but my phone has taken a beating today playing around with all of this stuff and needs a break. More to come soon!

Here’s the first modules that’ll be sent with the rest of the equipment.

There will be two separate colonies formed on the surface that are identical. Each with the shown set of modules, 4 extractors, and a surface comm module.

I’m going to allow ITSA operations and projects to be a bit more public from now on since it can be a little hard for me to just manifest ideas at time.
This means that if people want me to utilise their modules or craft that I will do so in a way that what’s provided is still independent (not ITSA) or incorporated into the ITSA.
I’m also open to the idea of joint operations with other people/groups whether that be through all those involved contributing to a goal or me providing the services.
Along with this, I will also be releasing some of my craft to be used by the public. Smaller craft will be widely available while larger variants will be considered on individual requests.

BP editing can work wonders. Definitely interesting for me to look back at the Oslo and see the difference between it and my most recent cargo vessel, Baleen.

The second one looks better IMO. Denser and sharper, more like a trade organization than a charity.

I’m going to have to agree with that. I’ll be making that specific one in game to add it to future vessels. Probably not in red though.

Bowhead was loaded with its last two modules, drone transport modules, and is now ready for one painful and laggy liftoff!
IMG_6767.jpeg

These drones (MK II) are a new variant over my MK I’s depicted on the right below. The landing legs are a little sketchy, but they get the job done.
IMG_6766.jpeg

With everything already on board, let’s just get to it. Bowhead and its 3.4 kilotons of cargo’s destination, if not already mentioned above, is the moon.

Liftoff!

Fuel is looking good.

En route to the moon.
IMG_6774.png

While on the way there I decided to check the systems for the K-IAC support and did a quick fly around Bowhead.
IMG_6775.jpeg
IMG_6776.jpeg
IMG_6777.png
IMG_6778.png

All systems looked good so it restocked and the mission continued on. This is definitely where the real challenges began. First, I forgot to deactivate the engines of the support craft which thankfully only resulted in minor damage to Bowhead (destruction of two parts) which will require some repairs back at Earth. With the amount of lag happening and my phone pushing forward on its strongest and last 1% (it started this mission at 35% and held onto that last percent for the entire moon encounter and orbit), the engines for Bowhead decided to become uncooperative wherein they wouldn’t deactivate and I’d miss my orbit mark by several kilometers.

Damage done by activated engines. This will be fixed when Bowhead returns back to Earth.
IMG_6782.jpeg

2.5 kilometer flyby of the moon (when I missed my mark by 12.5 kilometers because the engines wouldn’t turn off).
IMG_6784.png

Stable and acceptable moon orbit.
IMG_6785.jpeg

With this point reached, there is now a green light for the deployment of all colony equipment to two similar colonies on the surface of the moon. Getting to this point was definitely a challenge but there is still more work to be done.
