Dreams of Erganium

That we do. It's far, though.

Not too far for our Station Commander though. He's risking his life in an untested one-off spacecraft, so we may know how to prepare, and where for.

Commander, you are a hero already. Even if you do not make it there.

Send the station to the Erganium system? What a challenge

It's an honour to be the first out of our system. Here's the launch of Infinity , my shuttle to Erganium.
She's still sitting in low Kyjoo orbit with her booster. I'll update once I'm on my way.

This mission is a scout mission to find sites for a colony in the future.

how about a plaque that just says "first" with no other context?

if you think about it, all of the civilizations that didn't have memes are now gone. Could be a coincidence, but do you really want to risk it?

You're greedy :p
You've literally chosen the largest system in the pack, Two stars actually .

TtTOtW reviewed every planet and moon (from map view) in the pack and chose the best out of all of them. Every single one of the best planets and moons just happened to be here.

Plus if you snooze you loose!

We're interstellar!

2 intentional and 1 accidental gravity assists later and I'm on my way to Minerva for a kick up to Erganium orbital height.
Me and infinity will be passing at 5000km so ill be bathing in factor 5000 sun-tan lotion.

Couple of deployable satellites in there?
Those are it's atmospheric probes. Ill deploy them when i'm in orbit of planets where we might have bases in future and de-orbit them. They will give us information on the planet's atmospheric density and it's gravity. The separators on the bottom are designed specifically for determining the gravity of a celestial body.

The gravity of an unknown body can be deducted from the orbital speed. I even could do this under 1.35 as there were no planet files. You don't even need a probe for this.
