Example rocket competition

One day i thoght about how far can we push 3 stage Example rocket in SFS. As everyone knows we can do moon tour with this rocket and i heard that someone could even land on mars with it. So what if we push it even further with nowdays mods like Altar's mod ANAIS.

RULES:
  • No cheats
  • No part mods.
  • No mods that change game mechanics
  • Use only Defualt solar system or solar system with only visual changes
  • The only modification allowed is 2 landig gears on last stage

Pushing the 3 stage example rocket past it's limits, I was able to land on Mercury and return to Earth using it

I used a very aggressive ascent profile to minimize gravity losses

Earth orbit achieved

A Venus gravity assist will be used to reach Mercury

The second encounter didn't change my orbit too much, but that was intentional...

A burn at the periapsis will be used to take advantage of the Oberth Effect

Ah, that's nice to see ANAIS used to its full power :p

Good mission, Mercury is one of the most difficult missions.
