Dutch is quite hard to understand if you don't speak it already... maar als je het al spreekt, dan is het gemakkelijk, toch?

Dutch is far easier than other languages, and of course is easier if you already speak it but as are most. Dutch is a west germanic language, just like english, Many similiarities. Although your dutch up there seems a bit alien many bits of dutch and engels are similar: (I'm listing some examples that are just silly lol)

Ik heb een appel -> I have an apple
melk -> milk
water -> water
zout -> salt

The main issue with learning dutch is spoken word, Because although when written it just seems like english with different words; The pronunciation is really something.

Chinese is even harder than dutch, They don't even use good ol' latin characters; How does anyone speak a language so alien (to someone who speaks a European language). Same thing for Japanese and Korean.
