Going too fast in re-entry

So I have this problem whenever I re-enter my spacecraft that is in a ball shape, I don't slow down enough and hit the ground at mach 0.9 so is there anything I can do?

Ball doesn't have much surface to get some drag while plummentin back to the ground

Get some a bitta large surface area so it could generate some drag to slow you down


Or slap engine.... Which is better I've guess.. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

MOAR ENGINES isn't the best way.
The best way is to flatten it for more surface area, or keep it the same shape but make it lighter.
