When you change the size of parts they become unstable and your build will be destroyed just by docking. It will become completely useless. I do not recommend it at all.

Though it can be interesting for engine placement. I was thinking the other day as when you alter the size then dock, the engines revert, but not only do they revert, depending on how much and on what axis it was edited on It will teleport to a new spot. Essentially alowing the engines to run without proper connection to fuel
