Yeah one Jupiter flavoured pizza moon coming right up.

To orbit and on our way to the good ol' gate to everywhere.

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 18_12_01.png

Nice.

That's one V and one E. Awesome. Now I decided to not add an e, but spend some of my excess delta v. So I bur e direct from there. The meeting didn't go as Hawkeye over here thought it looked, so oh well ... Circularise it is.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 18_30_54.png

That gave me an easy entry to the soy, and eye it again I did. Now I went the wrong way around Ganypede and sort of left the circus... Oof.

Continued in the next post.

Right... Wrong way...
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 18_37_11.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 18_39_18.png

But too late. well at least I managed to give the astronaut about 3 consecutive strokes.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 18_43_07.png

And a loooooooooong time wondering if I'll ever return him to Earth.
Poor bastard.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 18_45_23.png

But I did return him to Jupiter, so at least that helped him deal with the now chronic twitching XD. I told him: "Stop complaining before I send you to catch up with Voyager". Haha, that put him in his place real quick!

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 18_56_29.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_01_27.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_03_05.png

Much better. Set up for a few consecutive Ganymede brakes.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_06_07.png

He eventually got all cross-eyed because I kept assisting in opposite directions...
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_08_11.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_09_54.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_12_01.png

And finally Callisto, to land.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_13_40.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_15_38.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_16_32.png

Hey, it's only been a few decades.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_20_03.png

He actually cried.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_20_43.png

The breakup.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_21_52.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_21_58.png

This goes to the surface. The lander unit was dry was so I dumped it and landed anyway, with just the capsule.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_24_09.png

More to follow.

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_24_44.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_26_23.png

He hobbled out of the craft, all twisted up and cross-eyed, mumbling inaudible gibberish to himself, drowning in tears. He kissed the ground through his helmet. I don't think he realised it isn't Earth...
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_28_06.png

I promptly sent him back, for his own sake.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_30_36.png

And a welcome refuel awaits.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_32_39.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_32_52.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_33_31.png

A little help from good ol' Ganypede.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_34_13.png

And off he goes!
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_35_41.png

A second assist sends him on a route leading back to Earth. REAL Earth. Not that he could tell the difference anymore...
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_38_15.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_39_29.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_41_33.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_43_38.png

Two more assists and some fire seals the deal.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_44_12.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_45_10.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_12 19_46_43.png

Hope his frail old bag-o-bones can handle re-entry and gravity!

Welcome ho.... Oh shit. There was nobody to meet him... They forgot he existed!

Oh well... Achievements in the next post.

Haha, here's the second try.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_20 13_02_30.png

Much improved but still missing an engine and a port. Hey, not bad for something that has no semblance of landing gear yet!

Gently she touches down, with a bit more of a margin this time:
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_21 10_16_04.png

Now a sloooooooooow trip to rejoin.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_21 10_22_33.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_21 10_23_17.png

Timewarp had the refueller shift left... goody, more old bugs we have been making peace with for the last 4&1/2 years...
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_21 10_28_01.png

... Not a small shift, but ok...
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_21 10_31_50.png
AND WE'RE READY TO RUMBLE AGAIN!

700t went to orbit 10 minutes ago. It was actually easy, could have added 150t to that, it turns out. Anyway, posting my entry when I have data that's sufficient for more than text posts... That'll be in just over 2 hours. Here's one capture:
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_21 21_37_09.png

That's what I did with it after making orbit. Viper needed fuel for further missions.

It Is Time...

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_21 21_21_15.png

I honestly thought it would be closer, but here's how it went.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_21 21_25_38.png
Primary boosters gone.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_21 21_26_16.png

Core spent. As you can probably tell, there's tons of fuel and plenty of thrust at this stage. the remaining 870m/s was a walk in the park.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_21 21_28_02.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_21 21_28_25.png

Dropping some dead weight.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_21 21_29_07.png

And dropping the boosters with 7.5% fuel still left in them. What a waste. But hey, I gotta verify the payload mass somehow, right?

That concludes my required Team Hawk entries. The rest will follow anyway. No half measures with TT.

Altaïr this one's for you ;)
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_22 11_24_48.png

Meet Diamant BP4. The French satellite launch vehicle that was the first non-American, non-Russian SLV. Fundamentally the establishment of the ESA before there was the ESA. 21.6m tall, 1.34m in diameter excluding its fins. Let's give it a whirl, shall we?

I did this in realistic because in normal mode you don't even stage before reaching orbit. In realistic it's spot-on.
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_22 11_24_08.png

Measure/launch stand. Let's get this baby from 1975 flying!
Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_22 11_15_02.png

Au revoir, la gravité.

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_22 11_20_31.png

Spaceflight Simulator 2022_11_22 11_23_44.png

Bonsoir, ciel étoilé!

The two upper stages are solid motors, so no switching off. I forgot to fill the satellite's tank, but that's fine for purposes of this demo. Altie, I hope you like this, because I loved this!

Mooncrasher I have a few missions awaiting approval :) no hurry, just notifying you.
