Well hey there! I'm starting in a long term mission. The result will take me all over the realistic Solar System. This will take a ton of work so bear with me.
The first piece is just the part that will break wayward ships instead of breaking MY ship.

Well, after doing a notably more technical scale drawing, it no longer looks like Quagmire when the plane loses its windshield. So the first piece...

One successful delivery. The spikes are to break your ship rather than mine. Yeah I'm terribly selfish, go take a hike.

Ok here's the second part. Literally. Oh I'm so bad...

Same rocket, lighter payload. By about 70t.

... And it shows! Never touched the final stage. 3 more identical sections follow, then a corner unit. Reduced the rocket slightly, as you'll see:

No third stage. Much better. And a narrower second stage.

Cool, two more parts. I realised this rocket is supremely unoptimised! No matter how much mass I cut, fuel and engines I remove, I keep having over 50% fuel left in my last stage. SO frustrating...

...So anyway, I added the two straight sections. Then the corner:

A drone broke out a strut where it would impede on a smooth docking. It's all under the fairings, so completely invisible.

That there is a hole that wasn't there a moment ago.

That's more like it. Now, two more straight sections...

And hey, finally I had only 29%fuel left! That means the rocket is approaching optimality. Happy me.

Well hey, one straight section later and we're ready for the split

Very light, only a fraction over 50t. a bit of a waste but there's nothing I can do about the launch sequence really.

And with that, the wall between the Standard and Heavy hangars are done!

Also, I'm calling it quits for the day, we'll see what tomorrow adds to this.

Hey let's build the ceiling/back wall of the Standard hangar. That'll be five 75m sections exactly.

Usual rocket, reduced even more.

... And five! That took a while... Now for the exciting part:

That, people, is the access passage to the interior of the ship. Meant for astronauts, and any benevolent aliens below less than 4m tall.
I had fun up to no. But this is getting scary. The planning is becoming more detailed than I initially intended, and this will certainly take months, if not a year, to build.
