Man. I haven't been on SFS forum for ages(since March 2020). Makes me feel like a new member here other than an active one.

Anyways. Recently China launched its TianWen Mars mission. This means "questioning the sky." It consists of a orbiter, rover, and lander.

Hope everyone is safe from SARS-CoV-2

They're definitely opting for the higher delta v option. Far more risky. Leaves faster and arrives faster. And arriving faster is where things could go very, very wrong in a dozen different ways.

Uh don't we count the Soviet ones?

Since one of them is able to transmit a half a dusty pic

Begging your pardon. Russia landed a probe successfully, failed minutes after landing but much better than ESA's record of 0 for 2 attempts, both resulting in crashes

I didn't mean to slight Russian achievement. I was really quoting the article until you pointed out my error

I also want to congratulate China on a successful landing. I've learned something about this rover and very interested in the results of its work. The number of scientific instruments is far below Perseverance's, but they still are promising. Several cameras, radar, magnetic field detectors, surface detectors, etc. I suppose that Chinese engineers worked excellently, and the Chinese rover will give us some valuable information about Mars.
