I am not particularly sure as to how to approach second stage recovery, as the Sea Dragon concept studies never made it far enough to cover that aspect, even if planned to

Yeah, I get it! Just wanted to share a recovery system I made a few weeks ago haha. I read the case file studies PDF about Sea Dragon, and for some reason, a reuse cycle diagram shows the second stage being recovered. But of course, it’s totally up to you if you want to include second stage recovery. also, if you mind, if I ask, why did you use a different engine for the second stage? i noticed you used a telescoping nozzle extension, not an expandable nozzle extension like the one from Sea Dragon.

Yes, I am well aware of the SD document showing a full reuse cycle diagram

also, if you mind, if I ask, why did you use a different engine for the second stage? i noticed you used a telescoping nozzle extension, not an expandable nozzle extension like the one from Sea Dragon.

this is mostly due to the fact that I based this Sea Dragon design of the KSP mod, and not the real thing, Also mostly a carry over from my early modding days (as believe it or not this is the first mod I made, it was just finished late) my lack of skills at the time resulted in me not exactly going for an expanding nozzle, and that stuck. so this pack will eventually be a collection of 3 Different Sea Dragon Designs
- based on the KSP mod (current)
- real-life designs
- For All Mankind (and their weird 5 nozzle upper stage)

oh wow, i didnt know this was your first mod, thats really cool! it would be really cool to see a sea dragon mod that has three designs and see an expanding nozzle, i would be really looking forward to those additions! i do have a feeling you based the design of the rocket from the ksp mod by necrobones, i didnt check it well but i did see the second stage engine looking alot like yours, i actually saw this already right before i got your mod.

I mean like what order do i where do i put the stage 2 engine and stuff

im not sure if you mean the staging but if it is the staging, TVC engines go start first, the first stage engine goes next, then after stage sep, the second stage fires, tvc doesnt turn off during these phases i think. according to the sea dragon concept study
