Mercury landing without burning retrograde

So some people here may know that you can decrease your speed drastically by smashing into the ground or objects. I've made a rocket that will land on Mercury without using engines to land.

I'll just show the important parts, the two strut sections will connect to make a very long structure to slow down

This trajectory is enough to slow the craft down but not too far in that it goes into the ground and breaks.

The first hit brings it down to 248 m/s, around 2000 m/s was saved.
I wanted to see if I could still use the remaining struts to land fully but..
