Figured I’d share todays progress/new build of a 5 segment SLS SRB. I’m really happy with how this turned out, and am hoping to build the rest of the rocket sometime.

Thanks Moon! As poorly ran as the SLS program is, I actually think it’s a beautiful looking vehicle!

Here is my latest creation:

That behemoth can lift up to 120 tons in LEO in IRIS (though very hardly, but 100 tons are sent very easily with spare fuel).


Now the challenge is to make it beautiful

Mostly done with the main rocket itself. Still have to build the capsule, but that’s for another time. Really happy with how it’s all coming together!

Thank you! It really isn’t that hard to do, mainly just time intensive. All you need to really know is how to adjust what variables within a bp file to get your desired look.

I presume this is to check the scale…

It should be pretty close to the real thing. I’ve tried to keep dimensions accurate for what I could find. Probably not 100% perfect though.

Well, everyone’s got to start somewhere! The more you play around with it, the easier it gets. Then, once you get the hang of things, there really isn’t much you can’t build with enough time and patience.
