You know what, ? I'll test your "theory". If I'm right, everyone who posted in this thread owes me a working shuttle. If I lose, I owe each of you a unique shuttle.

Which theory? That capability grows with twr?

That Titan is better because it has more thrust:

The usual suspects.

Well now I'm working on two shuttles (not that I agreed with the "Titan is best" theory.) But I also posted in this thread

It's obvious that Titan is the best. Look at this for example:
Screenshot_20200812-100240_Spaceflight Simulator.jpg
On the left, we have 4 Frontier (4×100 tons of thrust), and on the right, we have 1 Titan (1×400 tons of thrust).

Who would win?

Well, we have the same thrust on both sides, opposing to eachother, this thing shouldn't go anywhere you may say. Let's test:
Screenshot_20200812-100305_Spaceflight Simulator.jpg
Exactly what I said! Why is Altaïr building such a dumb thing? It's obvious that the Titan is better, a single one does as much job as 4 Frontier!

Unless you noticed a small detail... :)

Well, the fuel, of course :) though two Frontiers weigh as much as one Titan.

The fuel? What's wrong with the fuel?

The Frontiers win! It can't be! That's impossible! There has to be a conspiracy there!

You forgot the ion engine, I did it for you:

0 meters It did not even lift-off!

The ion engine is the worst engine in the game: confirmed! :p

obviously they win, they are more efficient.
Wh cares about efficiency?!? TWR is the best! The higher the better.

I mean, If you have enough TWR, all you have to do is pierce through the atmosphere vertically, until you pass the Karman Line, fast enough so drag doesn't even has time to apply on your rocket, then go fully horizontal. That is the most efficient way to liftoff by miles!

I disagree, if you take off more slowly, the drag applied will be less, which is why using 50% of the power is more efficient than at 100%. As for the engines, the most efficient is always the best, even if it is an ion engine, in which case you can increase the thrust.

But drag won't have the time to apply if you lift off so fast, besides, If you go completely straight, Its even more efficient cause you'll be fighting atmosphere as less as possible. That is the most efficient way to take off.

And Ion Engine is shit, Its TWR is just too low.

I don't think the drag would apply to time measures, that doesn't seem right to me. As for the ion engine, it is very good if you use bp edit.
Drag is given by time of atmospheric flight. That is why high TWR is always best, drag won't even have time to slow down your ship.

About the Ion Engine, Yeah, of course, cause you are increasing Its TWR

Be cool like me and spam just enough titans for your rocket to rise off the launchpad at 4 m/s^2.

"laughing much" but I don't think that fits the SFS theme
It means Laugh My Ass Off.

A bit like 'lol' (laugh out loud), they basically mean 'i'm not laughing at all, I'm just lazy and can't think of anything interesting to write so have this acronym' or INLAAIJLACTOAITWSHTA for short
