No it's not. You need to understand atmospheric pressure. Pouring with the spout on top prevents the liquid from creating a temporary vacuum that, when broken, allows a sudden inrush of air causing the liquid to gush. Watch the clip. I bet you squeeze the toothpaste tube in the middle too
