At last, BR-Apollo now features America's very first space station, Skylab! Featuring all-new meticulously researched and created parts with animations moving in 3D, BR-Apollo's fourth major version is here!
The main focus of this update, Skylab, was made to be not just easy to use, but to be as modular and realistic as possible. Skylab itself is made with 7 parts, 8 including the fairing. With just a single set of parts, you can decide whether you want to send Skylab to orbit as it happened in real life, or if you want to launch the station as it was intended, undamaged. With one launch of the station, you can recreate each mission that inhabited it, with two different solar shield states representing NASA's ingenious damage control during Skylab 2 and 3.
The update video for this release features the flight recreated as it happened, with text excerpts from real NASA anomaly reports describing the incidents as they played out.
Along with Skylab, several new parts have been added to more accurately recreate several other flights. LM Test Articles (LTAs) have been added for Apollos 4, 6, and 8, along with the Apollo-Soyuz docking module.
Of course, a number of other changes have been made. The S-IC Thrust Structure has been near-fully remodeled and finally has its retrorockets, and many other parts have been touched up. Several annoying bugs have been fixed, including a particularly problematic one where placing an F-1 engine would make the build menu near-unusable with a broken hitbox.
I took about a year's hiatus from this project, with the huge amounts of work between 1.0 and 1.2, I got pretty burned out. Over the past couple months, my passion for this project has been reignited, and it is my pleasure to give you guys this update that I've once again poured my passion into. Thank you all for your patience and support, it means the world to me to have people care about my work like this. I hope you enjoy.
¡Viva BR-Apollo!
