Anyone wanna take a guess at what it means? (Or who just knows outright...)

It's the motto of a project I'm working on currently.

The project is working on making a liquid-powered rocket that can launch 30k feet.
The majority of the project is engine development at the moment.
This project has been going on since 2017 or so, and I joined when I got here. It's taken quite a lot of time to figure everything out. The engine hasn't fired yet actually, but we're getting really close. It should fire this semester.

Here's its state after today's work. We finally actually got the main pieces of the test assembly together. A couple pipes need to be fitted now, and then it will be ready to start having fluids flowing through it.

By the way, 8bitCosmonaut, I'm guessing this is something you'll enjoy making fun of.
This Engine is Ethane/N2O Pressure fed.
Also, for everyone else, practically all of the hardware here is simply there to prevent explosions in the event of a failure.

I remember looking it up when the movie Ad Astra came out last year. It is a pretty powerful little quote in my opinion.

Lol, in our case it's slightly modified. It really fits as we're trying to tame fire in order to reach the stars... well, the upper atmosphere anyway.
Also, The project name is Tartarus, if that wasn't clear.

Holy shit never knew the SFS community was so unique
I've said it once already that you really have no idea what the forum is actually all about. Which is weird because you've been here a lot longer than many of us.

If you guys get any video of a 30k flight, or any flight it would be awesome to see.

Yes, I believe so, although I can't say for certain because I haven't done anything in that planning. I've just been helping to put it together right now.

What could go wrong?
So many things. Mostly just things taking to long to build. At this point we're still unsure on how to convert our test equipment into a usable rocket... as you know, engines are complex. Rockets are complex. Combining the two together can be a bit of a nightmare.

To no unwanted leaks.;)

This is a college project I gather. Just wondering, is it with an extracurricular society, or part of the course?
