Ok so I've recently learned that when you have a diagonal docking port and dock a station module to it, the station segment docks, but with a gap between the diagonal port and the new segment and I have one question:

WHY CAN'T THE GAME HANDLE DIAGONAL DOCKING IM GONNA GO INSANE

Well in short the game was not designed to have diagonal ports, its why you can only rotate increments of 90 degrees without bp editing

thats true but it shouldn't default to 90 deg increments when it's not 90 should it?
The game is originally designed like that. It tends to be forgotten, but bp-editing is not an officially supported feature. So yeah, it's sad but it can happen that some bp-edit tricks don't work.

ah got it. am just surprised that the calc engine or whatever Unity/the code is using can't handle it lol
