For this submission, I've put almost all of my points into the Efficiency department and will be packing all required modules for the Here to Stay category into only two launches.

Here is my first rocket, containing the Airlock, Habitat and a small module with Solar Panels.

We're launching.

After a few minutes we have exhausted our first and second stages. Gonna use the last stage for the final push into orbit.

We're in orbit and on our way back to the Moon.

Gonna need to reconfigure a little. I'll disable one of the valiant engines to account for the offset weight.

We're in Lunar Orbit.

The base is going to be located on the Ocean of Storms due to it being relatively flat. Landing in approximately 15 mins.

One small step for man- uhh... machine?, Another giant leap for mankind.

And our base is safely on the ground.

That does it for the Foothold category. The upgrades necessary for the Here to Stay category should be posted in a few hours hopefully.

Neat submission, quite interesting module shapes. :)

Don't feel under pressure to restrict the growth of your base too much in pursuit of efficiency, now you have a lot of launches available to add whatever more creative things you can think of.

Yeah, I'll be using the second launch to add the requirements for Here to Stay and then figure out a way to use the remaining 5 launches until the contest ends.

Also I have a question, are ion engines allowed for decoration on the base (nuclear reactors for example) or are they banned completely?

The only reason they are banned is because they break SFS propulsion, if you clearly do not use them for that then there's no cause for complaint.

Small question, how does your base deploy from the rocket?
