Two mechanical and assembly halls have been completed and are ready for departure to the moon! I’ve held off on launching them for just a bit to see if I can manage to fit anything inside of them to save an extra launch in the future.

These two structures are considerably large (100x50 meters). I did completely drain each of them of fuel to bring down their mass to around one kiloton. So this should not be too much of a challenge for Bowhead.

These halls will be essential to establishing a launch pad on the moon and creating modules to utilise on the moon itself. However, they are not quite ready to operate. Smaller mining colonies will still need to be set up to provide the resources needed to manufacture parts along with the need for the storage depot, mentioned in an earlier post, to store vital resources in a specific location for use in these halls.

Both mechanical and assembly halls have successfully landed on the moon after transport onboard Bowhead. With this done, work will begin on the storage depot and other mining colonies.

Moon orbit undocking. Which I then had to redock because I forgot to transfer fuel to the hall.

This is self explanatory.

There’s just one problem—and of course it’s the one time I didn’t think I’d need to test any of the mechanisms. The boosters used for landing won’t separate so I’ll be removing them manually.

I’ve finished some of the storage modules, but I decided to take a break from that and modify my current cargo transport vessel.

Introducing the ITSA Barracuda!
IMG_6884.jpeg

Modified from previous versions to have an extended cargo bay but at the cost of the two escorts. Due to no defences being present, the Barracuda will only be safe to travel along secure routes.

Also note the landing legs…

And here’s a little something for old times sake. A side by side comparison, if you will, and a testament to how far the ITSA/CTA has come.

How do you do the logos on your ships Hawk?

Time and bp editing. Don’t really have too many tools available for editing things. Just a file editor since I do this all on my phone.
Like what specifically did you do? did you do the thing where you shrink fuel tanks/fairings to make them appear over the other tanks?

The logo itself is made up of a lot of smaller fairings and I just have to make sure to place it on a fuel tank that isn’t too wide (so that the logo or part of it doesn’t get covered over). On the transport vessels, the logo is 10x10 and it’s placed over 1x3 fuel tanks so that the fuel tanks don’t interfere.
