Hello, so my "first time" making a custom part for SFS, for now I'll just make custom engines but also might to start to make custom capsules, solar panels, landing legs, probes and parachutes (even that it can be a bit umprobable that I'll be doing all of that).

For now this mod only adds 3 simple engines to the game called Odyssey Engine, Copernicus Engine and the Plato Engine.


Odyssey Engine

Relevant Informations:

It's a good engine to be used on light second stage rockets and when used on space when thrust isn't much of a problem. (a bit simillar to the Frontier Engine)

Mass: 5 Tons
Thrust: 70 Tons
Efficiency: 300 Isp

Copernicus Engine

Relevant Informations:

Engine that can be used as a first stage engine for some rockets.

Mass: 8 Tons
Thrust: 130 Tons
Efficiency: 230 Isp

Plato Engine

Relevant Informations:

An engine that can be used on some landers and small service modules, like the apollo service module, or as an engine for simple and small space stations.

Mass: 7 Tons
Thrust: 70 Tons
Efficiency: 230 Isp

Lioness Engine

Relevant Informations:

While the DIAASE (dahzito space agency) and the USSR tried to collaborate they designed the Lioness Engine, it's a powerful engine that can be used to launch heavy rockets/payloads (works well on Realistic mode). Suggestion made by MonkeSpaceflight and inspired on the NK-33 and F-1 engine.

Mass: 12 Tons
Thrust: 500 Tons
Efficiency: 260 Isp

Solid Rocket Booster (SRB)

Relevant Informations:

A SRB (Solid Rocket Booster) that can help your rocket when the first stage engine doesn't have enough thrust to launch.

Mass: 55 Tons
Solid Fuel: 48 Tons
Thrust: 140 Tons
Efficiency: 180 Isp
Burn Time: 61.7 s

This mod doesn't have support for MacOs and it's very unlikely that It will have in the future, also if you are having troubles with downloading the mod and how to put it in the game check this thread: Mods and installation: Questions and answers

Interesting. That's a really good looking engine, especially for a first time, specs are balanced, it offers a good alternative to Frontier engine, especially when efficiency is a priority.

I like that its still similar to the vanilla engines, but with it's own unique use so it's not just a clone of another engine from the base game.

Oh thanks, that's fine. I wrote down the specs for it, but they could be changed if you want.
Lioness Engine:
Thrust: 600t
Width: 3 meters
Height: Anywhere from 3-5, really a design choice.
ISP: 270

I'm still thinking about that. The rocket I would use it for is inspired by soviet rockets, especially the Proton family. I'll let you know if I find a design you could take inspiration from. Honestly, if it fits with the aesthetic of the base game and isn't super complicated, its fine with me.

Yeah, that's something that I'll fix on the next update.
Also does anyone know how to make a custom SRB (similar to the SRB in career mode)?

You can literally copy/paste the prefab for the solid fuel tank directly into the prefab for the "SRB engine". This is how I made TFINER.

Added 2 more engines, the Lioness Engine and a SRB.
Also changed the mass of the Plato and Copernicus Engine for them to not be so much heavy.

Plato Engine:
Before: Mass: 7 Tons
Now: Mass: 5.5 Tons

Copernicus Engine:

Now: Mass: 6.5 Tons
