Cheaper. From the looks of it at the bottom, it's either 304 or 316 steel.

I am planning to use 304 steel for my future sounding rocket project. Professionally speaking, I think the BFR would use 316 steel since it's more resistant against chemical attack, and reliability is Elon's greatest priority right now.
