A Geobukseon (Korean: 거북선, Korean pronunciation: [kʌbuksən]), also known as turtle ship in western descriptions, was a type of large Korean warship that was used intermittently by the Royal Korean Navy during the Joseon dynasty from the early 15th century up until the 19th century.

I've heard of this ship, I was listening to Extra History Admiral Yi. Formidable ships they were with guns on all sides and the top covered. Japanese boarding parties couldn't get in the ship when the Japanese tried to go through Korea to China and ended up fighting the Koreans on land and in the sea.
