I think it's supposed to be for ascetics and something to hold the Fairing

Same as Rigel, I wondered about the heat shields on the separators. If it's to protect the dumped stage from the engine's heat after separation it's useless. We ask that no parts are broken on the launcher, but we don't mind about debris.
