I'm brand new to modding, but I'm going to make a custom.engines pack with a vast assortment of interplanetary/interstellar engines.

I'll be using this thread to post updates and take SOME requests, not all (who knows, though).

So far, I have this list of engines:
(N2O4's electricity pack will be required for the purpose of realism and not having godlike engines)

Pulsed nuclear propulsion
AKA blowing up a whole bunch of nukes to pushe yourself forward)

Pulsed thermonuclear propulsion Same thing, but with He-3 and Deuterium pellets

Bussard ramjet
Because why bring fuel along when you can get it on the go?

MPD thrusters
Because magnetoplasmadynamic supercalifragilistic thrusters are just that good
Thrust and Isp changes depending on power input?

VASIMR
Because you can't have your cake and eat it too.

NERVA
Because maybe you don't want an NPE?

Magnetic Sail
A ton of weird features I'll have to figure out. I may even have to release it later.
Some of the features:
Only activates in SOI of star
Thrust proportional to distance from star
Always pushes away from star

Potential (I probably won't do them soon, if at all) engines:

Tether propulsion
Can change a satellites orbit
<1N of thrust
Thrust decreases with height
Extremely high Isp - no fuel required

Space Elevator
- Can't work until rotation becomes a thing
- Would clear all your satellites pretty quickly

Orbital cannon

Air augmented rocket engines

Ramjets, air intakes

Wings? Maybe. Just maybe.
Could provide an upward thrust proportional to size and velocity.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

NERVA XE plume:

Is this good? Or should it be all blue?

If you figure it out, let me know. By the way, my NERVA os different from yours. Lower thrust, lower Isp.

You're sure you can do all of that? Modding is much harder than you think it is.

3 months. I could probably finish the beta release before then. If I'm lucky.

If I get more than 100$ for my birthday, I can get KSP 2 and Odin interpreter

Update: because it's just as feasible, the astrophage "spin drive" from Project Hail Mary will be replacing the Bussard ramjet.

I've started work on the Daedelus engine. On a similar note, I'm keeping as close to real values as I can for thrust and Isp.

One thing in my test was that if the camera is about 6-8 km far from the mass center of a rocket, the rocket model diasppears in simulator.
I once build an elevator like about 60 km in height and disappears as fast as i loaded it.

The camera goes beyond the rocket's loading range and disappears.

Yes, a space elevator isn't feasible anyway until rotation is added.

Daedelus engine will now be two seperate engines, one for a lower stage and another smaller (40m diameter) one for the upper stage.
