I started working on some landing legs and similar mechanisms, so I decided to make a new and improved thread.

I'm working on some simple legs. Here they are so far.

Currently no locking mechanism, so they are just kind of limp.

Works for the largest engine. Uses part clipping, but no bp editing.

Though you need to land slowly or else the structural parts break

You only really need the stock landing legs.
Works just fine.

The maximum length I have achieved before the craft breaks is five large struts

Note that you deploy the struts first, go in the air, and then activate the stock legs.

Oh my god, you made my life a million times easier. I thought the outside of large landing legs had hit boxes too! Small ones do, so I just assumed.

That works so much better. And raises the rocket almost twice as high.

Also it can land easily on slopes, but bounces down them a bit.

Not a landing leg, but another cool mechanism. Arresting wires on a carrier.

It needs unbreakable parts, but is very strong when it is on.

Landed after an aero test. The panels are to prevent flipping.
It's hard to deploy the legs when falling since they fly away, so you need to deploy them while burning. I used 70% throttle and it worked fine.
