I meant using them in vacuum once the SSTP is in orbit?

I didnt use ions at LPO, in fact i never slowed down to LPO (I used lithobreak).
While i didnt return to Earth (Pluto is far), i'm certain that the Moon is reachable.

You mean that titan powered one you used to Triton?

Well I may be doing something wrong and way off my money but I'd quite like to see it do a drag on return lunar landing.
If it's the one I'm thinking of, its overall Dv is 300 less than the one I failed with. TWR is higher though, so it could be interesting.
