He sees trouble coming well in advance (to which he owes his success), and he never did lose a ship, though he's had a few close calls... Most astronauts dread being on his team. But those who have, trust him more than their own mother's love.

Yup, that's a gun barrel... A functional one. Loaded, by the way. And reusable. Indefinitely. Ok ok now I'm just showing off ... Next to it are shielded docking ports for the IPO Commander's Diplomatic Transfer Vehicles.

These fairings are completely touch insensitive. Awesome...

... And the food supply dropship is in service

That's the old engine that runs this new marvel. The only powerplant in the federation reliable enough to be left in orbit around a strange planet "until further notice...". She owes her awakening to this:
