Hey! I got a new toy! And it's HUGE.

The Hercule OBS is my answer to messy delivery problems...

Say hello everyone!

This needle needs a hard line up...
Screenshot_20191216-174350.png

... real hard.
Screenshot_20191216-180033.png

Anyway, so eventually it reached orbit and then it needed some help from the payload to reach the station. Yeah, not much potential left in LEO... I know where this rocket will spend its life. And it ain't far from terra firma.

Two station drones bring the mammoth tank in and expertly installs it.

Not bad! One down, one to go, and then refuelling them... ouch. At least this one's at 55%. Better flying may improve the second tank's case.

And in the nose are the satellites destined for the Moon. Only two are needed in conjunction with the lunar station. The logistics on a realistic setup like this is actually quite more demanding than the simplicity of the outcome may make it seem :)

In preparation for the other tank, we need to fix the drone station that was damaged a while ago:
Screenshot_20191216-211924.png

And a new drone to replace the damaged one.
Screenshot_20191216-204318.png

While the two damaged items are de-orbited.
Screenshot_20191216-215316.png

There we go.
Screenshot_20191217-000557.png

Another tank arrives...

Now, just a few structures and our spaceport is ready!

Daniel: "William, you excited?"
William: "Of course" *Smiles slightly*
Daniel: "That's so like you" *Chuckles* "Go ahead, keep your secrets. Gustav?"
Gustav: *Smiles*
Daniel: "Ugh... Another lost case. Why did I even ask?"
William and Gustav makes eye contact and for a brief moment utters a muffled chuckle simultaneously. Daniel just shrugs his shoulders and continues.
"Anyway, so I'll see you in about a day or so ok?"
Two thumbs are raised.
//End of transmission//
Daniel turns to his right. "You ready?"
The pale face next to him burst into brightness: "Of course I am. I was born for this." The words were softly spoken, but the face was shouting it. And so, Daniel and John proceeded to be suited up.

John, he always wanted to experience the black of space. Its purity and its merciless silent violence mesmerised him since he was 12. Today, his dream comes true. He gets to fly to the great unknown. In a rocket he designed himself. He never, ever thought he'd see the inside of that wonderful, cramped capsule.

One Titan tears the nostalgia furiously from his mind. Shit. This is real! Oh holy fucking shit help me...
Daniel is just smiling from ear to ear.

Well... time to send the shuttle :)

I love Alf so much I simply had to use him.

Go!

Deploying service drone.

Space port finally working!
Screenshot_20200101-103601.png

The objective for this is to install a centre lens in the deep space telescope to achieve better images than the current setup, compromised for lunar imagery in its early life. That compromise has left a bad taste in the mouth of astroanalysts after the shift to a synchronised orbit with Earth.

Close enough for now. And so, we wait. 6 months...
Screenshot_20200101-105527.png

"Initiate final approach" "Copy" "Prime ignition, throttle 100%" Copy, priming" "Right, bring us in, Captain" "Aye-aye Sir"
Screenshot_20200101-110048.png

"Target in visual range, Sir" "Good job, Captain. Switch to RCS." "Switching"
Screenshot_20200101-110424.png

"Target static, Sir. Holding at 7m"
And the rest, as they say, is history :)

Docking for recalibration.

"Telescope orbit adjusted to pre-service trajectory, Sir" "Wonderful. Mission complete. Let's undock and get back home" "Sir yes Sir!"

Screenshot_20200101-113414.png

"Trajectory set, Sir. Now we wait."

"Captain you came in quite hard on the thruster. You sure emptying the tanks are enough weight shedding to drop on chutes alone with the extra mass on board?" "As long as we touch down nose first, Sir"
"Ok...."

Nice, last week I was trying to dock to my astroid mining craft way out between Mars and Jupiter proved impossible...
I should post my final fail maybe

Get your closest approach as close as possible. Then follow your craft and zoom in as much as possible As the target approaches you, fire away from it and try to cancel relative velocity. After that it is simple docking via RCS, combined with time warp to speed things up. Ignore the shaking. Judge by what you see while time warping.
