Back in early 2018, BepiColombo's target was redirected to Gǃkúnǁ'hòmdímà, a mysterious TNO with a asteroid moon. The launch occured in 2021, with the target being reached over 2 decades later (with a Jupiter assist). After the OIB, BepiColombo entered a orbit with a SMA of 6500 km (eccentricity of 0.35, inclination of 56.228 degrees). In 2048, BepiColombo made a close approach of only 25 km from the surface of Gǃòʼé ǃHú, resulting in this image being taken.
