Team Frontier progress

It’s time to move onto Team Frontier! Unlike Team Titan, it seems people just usually open a thread and then post their progress, so that’s what I’ll be doing. First, as an iOS user, it seems there is a bug that freezes my game if I dock or just vigorously time warp and use rcs. So, I’ll first be trying the space station to make sure it’s possible. First, I modify my Team Titan launch vehicle, which is quite capable, to be for cargo. I just got rid of the upper stage, so it’s just a core with boosters, like an abnormally large and deformed Long March 5B with crazy cool side boosters.

I have an incredibly inefficient circularization, since I accidentally time-warped too much, but, well, the important part is that I’m in orbi.

Our second module has been added, making it (hopefully) look a lot less like a human body! Here it is on the launchpad.

Clean, 1.52 booster separation...

and... orbit! Now I get ready for a rendezvous.

By the way, I forgot to say in the first post that this station is entirely inspired by Hawk’s Gylden Station, so yeah.

Woohoo! It’s time for the module that gets me ”floater”!!! This was a hefty habitation-type module that needed a larger fairing, so my Cargo Vesta III Heavy couldn’t bring it up to LEO without fuel from the payload. Here’s the mission:

Orbit and readying for rendezvous...

Docking...

Finally, I rearrange the module to complete the station part of this challenge.

Woohoo! The station is done... for now. I might continue building it on a different thread - until, of course, the freezing bug strikes.

I think your work is quite good. Much better designing than some of the things I’ve made before, and good job!

Ok, now that the station part is (hopefully) done, I’ll focus on what seems to be the hardest part of the challenge: the replica. Assuming I am not judged for color and hoping that it has an at least okay scale, here it is: the Arianespace Vega rocket!

For the people wondering why I didn’t use a fairing nosecone, I have this glitch or bug or whatever that makes it so that I can’t place a fairing nosecone next to a 3-meter fairing.

I think your work is quite good. Much better designing than some of the things I’ve made before, and good job!

Ok, I’m not trying to rush anyone, and if anybody needs me to change something, I will, but I’ll go ahead and post my Mars mission. . First, I made a Apollo - type rocket, called the Vogon I. It’s pretty similar to the Apollo Saturn V, with three stages, a Mars excursion module, and a csm, but has a single stage Mars excursion module. Here it is!

Liftoff!

We reach orbit with the first two stages expended and a little bit of the third stage burned. We depart for Mars orbit.

Martian orbit achieved!

Next we undock and land our Mars excursion module.

Woohoo! Time for ascent and orbit!

Rendezvous and docking with CSM.

After all of our crew and samples are secure, we dump the excursion module and depart for Earth.

After an... iNtErEsTinG reentry (I knew the speed would be worse than the moon, but I didn’t know it’d be that bad), the mission is finished! Wait, oof! That’s too many files. I’ll post reentry and achievements in the next post.

I burn the abort motors to make sure I survive.

I dunno why it says I landed on Mars, but maybe that’s just something new.

I don’t think your station is done as you need an escape rocket but this is not mentioned in the new instructions so it could be that it isn’t a requirement anymore idk

Well, since the new instructions were read, reviewed and approved by the whole moderation team, I’d say is no longer necessary.

After getting a safe distance away from the station, we de orbit and reenter.

Yeah, I already posted my Vega rocket. It’s really easy to get lost in all of the screenshots. One part that might be a little off are the fairings, which are supposed to be 2.6 m wide. I tried to bp edit it, since iOS can do that now, but for the adapted fairing, one side supposedly being 2.6 wide and the other being 2 wide, the 2.6 wide section kept changing to 3 wide. Since you’re awesome at bp editing, do you know how to do it?

Sure! So, here is my submitted Vega’s fairing:

It is 3 m wide, but the original is 2.6 m wide, as I said. If I try to bp edit the middle, 3-wide fairing right now, I would half to change the “x” to 2.6/3, which is not a whole number. Instead, I change I change the fairing first to a 2 wide, so I can change the x to 2.6/2, which is a non-infinite decimal. So, after saving the new Vega, this one:

I then bp edit the fairing to 2.6 meters. It looks like it might be 3 meters, but you can see that it is a little less than a 3 meter one.

Now I try to bp edit one of the 2 meter wide fairings so that one end becomes 2.6 wide.

Now the middle, once fully 2.6 m wide fairing grows on one of the ends. What should I do?
