Hi people! I joined recently, and I think these challenges unlock like abilities? Right? I hope I have the ability to start a thread! Anyway, here is my moon mission.
This is definitely overkill for a moon mission, but who cares. Overkill is underrated. Anyway! We will definitely not compromise our crew’s safety, because we have an abort system! Let’s test it!
Okay, our vehicle, the Stealth 1, is ready to launch! 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!
Woohoo! Crew safety definitely not compromised! Ok, now let’s get to the real deal.
Liftoff! The boosters carry the weight of the entire vehicle, giving it a nice TWR.
With the help of 1.52, we have a seamless booster separation, and our untouched core finishes the circularization.
Orbit has been achieved! After TLI, and core separation, we inject ourselves into lunar orbit.
Lunar orbit achieved, still with a hefty amount of delta-v in our upper stage.
Woohoo, we burn retrograde, using the last of our delta-v in our upper stage to slow down, and then ditch it. We then land with 84% fuel remaining for the journey home!
We get into a low moon orbit...
And after a short burn, separate our capsule!
I’m not gonna post the reentry, because I definitely did not screw it up, and the heat shield was definitely not pointing the wrong direction at one point. Sigh, if and when sfs gets reentry burning up like ksp, I will die very cruel-ly. Anyway, after deploying my 3 parachutes at the very second after I‘m less than 250 m/s (it’s still the literal last moment I could deploy them without crashing; that’s how bad reentry was), I burn my abort system ( like I said, definitely, DEFINITELY, not compromising safety) for a nice, soft, 9999999999m/s touchdown.
Mission finished! Well! I hope I get into the team!
