with the recent-ish addition of the challenge log (its been like 6 months) it can be quite frustrating doing an entire mission, recovering the object and then just getting some seemingly random challenge logs, and only for challenges not filled out so here's some ways to get the mission log.

Destroy Rocket
If you have a rocket anywhere that isn't the earth's surface you can press the destroy rocket button to get the mission log.

Recover Rocket
If you have a rocket on earth's surface with a heat shield on it, you can detach the heatshield, press the recover button, then "View flight log" to find your mission log.

If say you have a shuttle or something that you are recovering then find a way to get debris from it, else there is no way to get your mission log.

It is worth noting that the example rockets use a custom capsule with a non-detachable heat shield, ability for an interstage piece, 1kn more torque than the default capsule, and it weighs 0.5t less than the default capsule+heat shield combo. If you are using this capsule make sure you have a way to generate debris, such as a separator on the top.

I believe this difference comes from the original capsule, which would already be configured in the capsule+heat shield combo most people use.

Why is the original capsule so OP though, it weighs 4 tons and has 6kN of torque, I think that's the most torque-giving capsule in the game.

ooh thank you!, you save my badge mission
No problem, that's why this tutorial exists; So people don't have to constantly re-do things when they give a challenge log instead of a mission log

Oh finally someone wrote something on the tutorial session
Oh cool I was wondering where this thread went, I wrote this in the special divisions section, It and the rest of the tutorials there must have been moved in the major forum rework; cool.
