I'm not sure how many, if anybody, here plays Workers and Resources, but I'll post some of my work here anyways. I haven't come up with a name for my republic either, any suggestions?
Here's a view of my current republic, the first one that I've built, liked and plan on adding more to:

You gotta admit it sounds like the name of a communist country

Naming a country rule no.1: The more oppressive the country you create, the more words like free, peoples and democratic you have to put in the name to balance it out.

In a democratic country the government could also take a hard stand but they also listen to people because of next elections.

So, I restarted my save and rebuilt the first town and farming area. Even though it isn't done yet, it looks and functions pretty well.

I reloaded another save and here's what I've got so far. All I need now for this to fully function is a train route to transport food to the border to be sold.

And once again, I restarted. I sell electricity, coal and oil currently, gonna be starting on the tourism industry as well.

Yet another save. Now with more experience and knowledge of the game.

This area is dedicated to producing crops, the large structures next to the main rail line, and using those crops to produce crop based products and products of those. Far left is good ol' food, middle where there are some rails and a cargo station is fabric and clothing and then the far right is meat as well as a high capacity warehouse where goods from the food and clothing sector will be shunted and meat directly sent there. Then I'll work on the large town/small city as well as coal, oil, and industry so I can build stuff with my own resources. This only took a couple hours.
