Working a SpaceX booster landing system... Thoughts so far?

Work in progress so be gentle.

I know there are a ton of spaceX designs but I wanted to make something with functional landing equipment.

This is what I came up with...

I have a bit of work to get this design down but its a start!

Ahh "booster landing system"... Not the F9 per say.

I could try to do a close build but I don't think fitting 9 rockets into the build is going to look great with the SFS build limitations even w/hacks.

Some sample ideas where I draw my angled designs from.
Plus army vet and DoD engineer by trade for 15 years tends to influence my design choices I guess.

If anybody wants the blue prints let me know and I'll post the text file (SFS 1.5).

Its a very finicky build but I'm working to lock in the flaps. The window of deployment is very tight and deployment order of operation needs to be quick.

Itself inspired by the thousand landing systems Danny Batten made. There's only a finite number of ways you can make a rotating landing system on a narrow gauge rocket. There's also a few systems in the video he doesn't use.

I like the fact it's a landing booster, but isn't another F9 clone. It looks more like his own series of flight systems.

And the fact he's in the 'SLS is shit' club gives him more points from me.

How about add a little legs between separator idk if it will work but for now im makin lock mechanism too so i can try it in descent burn..

i locked it but the other one won't lock....

But I'm still lookin forward to it...

I forgot to take pic the second flight (sub orb) it lock and landed then the dummy 2nd stage flew away....
