Haha, I’m pretty sure that thing can lift a couple of SLSs to orbit.
OH SH*T, I REALLY HAVE TO DO IT!!!

Here is my SLS replica, built just for this purpose:

It is to scale, and perfectly realistic. Look, it can't even lift off:
Screenshot_20210117-145049_Spaceflight Simulator.jpg

OK NASA, it's time for me to give a help:

Lift-off!

Until now that's a perfect flight...

And orbit!

Wait, I still have a lot of fuel, let me bring you closer to your destination!

Ok, I still have a little fuel left, let me deorbit you:

You're on your own now:

And finally, I'm glad to see that you finally reached your destination. Welcome to the Moon. I hope you enjoyed the trip

Hahaha. Well done! You’ve shown those NASA guys how it’s done.

and, like always, the SLS failed. Nothing new.

Haha, thanks guys :D

That thing is really funny to toy with:

Even at such a low altitude the rocket can fly above orbital speed! Yes, the SLS is in the fairing.

Okay, now let's give the SLS the fate it deserves! Again...

Impact in 10... 9... 8...

Screenshot_20210117-202132_Spaceflight Simulator.jpg
3... 2... 1...

At that point the game freezes, and I have to wait litterally for a few minutes to see the result.
Screenshot_20210117-202345_Spaceflight Simulator.jpg
Then the game freezes again...

And finally...

Nicest explody I've seen yet. My hats off to you. Well done. Agreed. MOAR EXPLODY! FIREWORKS SEQUENCE INITIATED

It took 600t to a galaxy far far away. Like legit, lol. Interstellar shuttle. Its booster was about two 1.4 build grids (including a specialised Ion interstellar 2nd stage) and the booster core itself had 2 side boosters, each larger than a build grid. Imagine what it takes to reduce THAT to a small pile of scrap... I've never seen an explosion that massive...

Time to revive this thread with my last creation:

That beast weighs 14 kton without the payload, and is able to hold a full build space in its fairing.

It is its first flight, time to test it.
Lift-off!
View attachment 53663 View attachment 53664 View attachment 53665

The launcher quickly gains speed:
View attachment 53666 View attachment 53667
Each of those boosters have 18 Titan engines. With the main core, that's 20 ktons of thrust overall.

Then, booster separation:
View attachment 53668 View attachment 53669 View attachment 53670

Now the main core with its 56 Frontier engines is alone.
Fairing separation:

And orbit:
View attachment 53672 View attachment 53673

The payload weighs 3600 tons, it corresponds to a build space completely filled with fuel tanks. And I could even have done better, I had 20% of fuel left.

Mission accomplished

It works better than the SLS...
thats is a t h i c c rocket right here , nice job

The challenge is pretty simple. You need to transport a payload of 1 kiloton (1000 tons) into orbit.

Rules:
Multiple launches are allowed
Cheats are allowed for initial construction
Payload must be transported all in one go
No cheats for the actual launch

Payload BP provided for your convince. You can use a different one if you want, as long as it is 1000+ tons.
Neat, I'll start off this account creation with this.

i think i did it. its trajectory isnt efficient but it works!
