First a refuel, then work starts.

Upside down fuel gauges. Undeniable proof that we are actually at the Southern tip of the Moon.

A bit narrow.

Gives me an idea for multiplayer,
Planet Vulcan in perfect opposition to Earth, a shared planet where we could all go dump our landers, rovers and whatever together

Not bad, but that incline...
Screenshot_20200111-141025.png
That crater exceeds 1km in width. Not an option.
Screenshot_20200111-141339.png

Usable... 318m wide. But a 12m drop from west to East.

That's it! That's our site! Nearly perfectly level when filled in. And at least 375m of horizontal support. Not... bad... at all. Foundation planning commences NOW.

And you do not know the unification format yet. A bit of patience while we prepare the foundation. You can perhaps design yourself a nice vertical stand for your shuttle.

I'll allocate you more than that, lol.

I already designed a tiny little thing the width of the build screen, but hell, I'll just use it as a Mars outpost on Mars or its moons. For the stand, do I need a docking port on the bottom, or what? I'm going to bed now, so at 11am my time, its 4:09 here, I'll be back on

Your shuttle has to dock with it.

Ok, next design, cheats are still on for this because I'll dock my shuttle to it next to see how it looks:

When there isn't a shuttle docked at one of the two places the solar panels will be extended to generate more electricity. Also those 2 solar panels near the top suck to open, try not to hit one of the two separators.

Also, a new shuttle will be designed shortly, possibly just editing an existing one.

Right... let's get cracking. Remember Charlie? I do. He works so much better heavily laden...
Screenshot_20200112-144146.png

But his payload is barely 11t...

With a bit of a struggle for balance we arrive at the Bergon, which in the meantime has returned to Earth orbit. A refuel of Charlie leaves it empty, awaiting a refuel itself.
Screenshot_20200112-150502.png
Bergon's drone has been earmarked for some groundwork on the Moon, so joins Charlie for a ride back to Lunar orbit.

Wow that's looking weirder than I realised.
Screenshot_20200112-153342.png

And off we go!
That's a mean little drone, by the way.

So, work all done on horizontal recording. 383m of land from crater to crater, with less than half a meter varianc in altitude at the two extremes. Nice.
Section building will now begin, as the foundation support sizes have also been measured. I forgot to screenshot, my apologies.

Here's another design that might just be the final one, editing is necessary before its completely done:
Screenshot_20200113-103639_Spaceflight Simulator.jpg

You see where the batteries and rover wheels are? Thats part of the extendeding brigde thing. One part Swin City's launch tower design actually inspired me to make it. Heres the sucker in action:
Screenshot_20200113-103651_Spaceflight Simulator.jpg

Its somewhat easy to extend but it's a pain in the ass to retract. Probably will be easier on the Moon.
Screenshot_20200113-103659_Spaceflight Simulator.jpg

Now here it's extended
Screenshot_20200113-103705_Spaceflight Simulator.jpg

Now for the retraction process...
Screenshot_20200113-103711_Spaceflight Simulator.jpg

Screenshot_20200113-103829_Spaceflight Simulator.jpg

Now for a picture of the blueprint
Screenshot_20200113-105208_Spaceflight Simulator.jpg

If I got rid of the rocket I have there, the entire thing would weigh roughly 50 tons.

Since the work on the Moon amounts to quite a lot (no shit, Sherlock ), I'm setting up two fuel stations in orbit around the Earth and Moon. After sending Charlie back for a refuel, it's time to actually send the fuel up...
Screenshot_20200113-095255.png

It's slightly scary.
The first trip is a mess but teaches me the thing's balance of forces. Second time's a charm.
Screenshot_20200113-100700.png

So graceful. So bloody heavy.
Between the two trips I fully refuel Bergon and Charlie, stick a full fuel station in Bergon's cargo bay, and a mostly fuelled unit on the Bergon's back.
The second U-tank was too heavy by LEO to be maneuverable via RCS relative to the Bergon. So I dumped it and brought the fuel station alone.

Big mistake...
