I love the way this changes the gameplay, it made me come back to this game. Thank you for that.

I wonder if there's a way to add the ability to "scrap" a rocket/rover etc. at a colony. That way, if I returned a craft to the base, it could be dismantled into rocket material again. This way, you could recycle obsolete craft, as well as essentially modify a craft. I built a lander designed to mine resources, dock with a station, land at my lunar colony, and then dock with the station to be deployed again. On my first flight, I realized I didn't have quite enough fuel to get back to the station from the resource deposit on the surface. I made it to the station with RCS and refueled, but it'd be nice to be able to modify the craft for more fuel capacity when I land back at the colony.

Thank you again, this is a top notch mod.
If it's not covered in the GitHub README file then it's not a feature so I don't think EVA construction is available currently.

I think you misunderstood me or I wasn't clear enough. I just meant a button that essentially allows for a ship on the launch pad at a remote colony to be "recycled" by removing it from gameplay and adding it's equivalence of "rocket material" into the colony's inventory. Even if this was done at a 50-70% return, instead of 1:1. This way, if I had a lander that was no longer needed, it could be turned recycled as parts essentially for my next build. Or I launch a rover on the surface and realize I forgot something or need to make changes, I could essentially modify it without having to waste all its material and build a new one from scratch. I hope this makes more sense.

New release v4.0.3

Tutorial
You can check how to use this mod in this link.

Change log
  • Now the Rotor has more thrust
  • Improved part descriptions for the Rotor and Balloon
  • Inserting and extracting materials from the colony have different key actions. To insert materials into the colony, use J. To extract materials from the colony, use K. Remember that all these key actions are configurable in the settings menu.
Bugs Fixed
  • Fixed materials being mined at the same speed whether on 1x or 10000x timewarp
Installation
  • Drop moreparts.pack file into Spaceflight Simulator Game\Mods\Custom Assets\Parts folder
  • Install Electricity Part Pack. click here to download
If you think that these instructions are not enough, you can see this tutorial with images Link

Note: I wanted to take the opportunity to mention that if you identify any errors in the mod, please report them on GitHub in the Issues section. This allows me to have a clear list of errors. This forum post has grown too large to effectively track issues. Thank you to everyone who uses MoreParts Mods!
Still having trouble with balloons on other planets like venus...

I have a problem with this mode, because when I want to turn on the ion engine I get a message that there is no fuel. The engines draw energy normally, but I need to have a fuel tank in the rocket to can turn on this engine. I am attaching a sample photo

edit: engine is using fuel and electricity but without fuel they dont works

Beacuse every engine needs fuel to run, you cant use just electricity to generate thrust, if you put some fuel it will work

not exactly, in game yes
but not irl, we have oproject orion which uses nuclear bombs, and ion engines in real life dont use liquid fuel, but a sort of charged gas

I think, to be more exact, every engine needs reaction mass (the stuff pushed out the back) and energy (the 'stuff' doing the pushing). For chemical engines (and NSWR engines) the 'fuel' provides both. For ion drives (and VASIMR) the energy is electricity and the reaction mass a heavy inert gas (Xenon usually). For NTR engines a nuclear reactor provides the energy and the reaction mass is usually liquid hydrogen. For project Orion the bombs could be called 'fuel' since they provide both the reaction mass and the energy.

There is a theoretical engine, the Alcubierre drive , that doesn't use reaction mass at all instead it bends spacetime. Seems to need a lot of energy though.

agree, more indepth aswell
