Now I'm working on a booster to take the fuel reserve to Mars.

And after too long of messing around with orbits, the booster has docked with the fuel reserve. I'm tempted to refuel the 2nd stage that's still attached. The booster has five Frontiers, weighs 273.54t and has a TWR of 1.10.

Well, I didn't need a refuel. I still can't believe that I just moved 300t+ to Mars. Horus Lupercal I can't thank you enough for the help!

Next up, the station itself.

Any time dude. You do some really good work around here and more than happy to supply a tweak or a nudge for your vehicles.

I have the station complete and will send it to Mars soon. Just gonna modify TSR a bit so I can be sure that it makes it to Mars without a refuel.

Now my rocket has my standard color scheme!

Now it's in LEO, in a 50km * 50km orbit. I'll dock TSR to the fuel tank and refuel before heading out to Mars.

Thanks mate! I'll be doing some more work over the next little bit, although it's pretty much midnight over here. Stay tuned!
So it turns out on piece of faring on the station came off, likely when I jettisoned the fairings covering the station. I've redesigned it and will be sending up a new station, ending the faulty one's mission.

After some testing I've changed up the engine style of the first stage, making it more efficient.

Reached LEO:

Previous tests showed that when I reached LEO, I had in the ballpark of 50% fuel left. This time it's 32%, and I can attribute that to poor route planning. But nonetheless, the station has made it to LEO and will dock with the fuel tank shortly.

Yeah, you want to be much more aggressive with the gravity turn once the boosters have gone and get up some speed for the second stage come off.

You'll loose less to gravity losses and having to be nose up as much during second stage flight

It seems that I forgot to add a probe/capsule...

I can't remember how to build a working door. Can I get some help?
Make sure one end of the moving part of your fairing is not touching anything ( so it can deploy ).
Then on the other end of that fairing half you need a hinge.

For a hinge , I usually have a small wheel connected directly to the fairing. Then get the smallest fairing piece and the smallest fairing nosecone before BP editing them both to 0.6 wide and 0.5 tall. Chuck the nosecone on the top half of the wheel and the fairing on the bottom half.

Not sure if that made sense but tell me if you work it out.

I'm having a little trouble with this part of the door. In theory this should work but not so much in practice, though I suspect that I'm doing something wrong.
